If there’s one thing I love to receive at Christmas, it’s a calendar. I usually get one from my Aunt Kristi every year. Sometimes it’s homemade, because she’s crafty like that. Last year, it was a Harry Potter calendar.
The other day when I was browsing in Barnes and Noble for a few gifts, I found myself wondering why there weren’t more calendars out there for writers. In the ten minutes I spent in the calendar section, there were a ton of different types: men with animals (hubba hubba), vintage soup labels, pin-up girls, horses, lighthouses, etc. But where were the calendars for writers?
And then I found out about Postertext. They design art prints for book lovers, and they’ve put together a fantastic looking calendar for 2014. MADE ENTIRELY FROM WORDS! What? That’s right. It’s every graphic designer’s wet dream and every writer’s wish! I think it’s a perfect gift for any book enthusiast. It contains short stories from some of my favorite authors like F. Scott Fitzgerald, Mark Twain, William Shakespeare, and H.P. Lovecraft.
Here are a few pics from what I found:

About Postertext
Postertext designs art prints for book lovers made entirely out of text!
We are a small team of bibliophiles who love art and literature. We are one of the pioneers of these “wall of text” designs, where we use words from a book to form an illustration. No lines. No edges. Just words.
Postertext breathes new life into some of the most important literary works ever written by using the writer’s own words. We take pride in our ability to produce the highest quality work that captures the heart and spirit of the author’s original vision. To accomplish this, we read every single book to completion before even attempting to brainstorm possible designs.
The result is stunningly elegant.
Since we first opened shop in 2010, we’ve been mentioned on big-name places like WIRED, Dwell, New Yorker, Notcot, Harvard Press and many others.
